Too many horses have been abandoned.
As the economy continues to falter, law enforcement officers throughout the country are seeing major increases in the number of unwanted and neglected horses, some abandoned on public land, others left to starve by their owners, especially older horses.
Their owners can't or don't want to take care of them and simply turn them loose. Animal Control picks them up and brings them to a rescue group. More starved and neglected animals are brought in everyday.
Rescue groups take care of homeless horses, and as you can see are brought back to health at great expense, continue to try and find people willing to adopt them. But that's becoming harder as the prices of hay and grain rise. Rescue groups are receiving fewer donations jeopardizing these miracles.
LeisurShare wants you to consider assisting by volunteering at a local rescue group or sponsoring a horse right here, right now. LeisurShare has teamed up with rescue groups across the nation to offer ride able horse sessions you purchase. These sessions include the cost of care for one week a year. Sponsorship Sessions buy time these horses need to be noticed and adopted. A tranquil adventure awaits you, year after year. You can experience different breeds through our ExchangeShare network.
